Name?
The Orielles

Where are you from?
Halifax/Liverpool.

What do you do?
We do a blend of garage/surf/psych.

Describe your style in three words?
Our style is 'slacker charity-shop chic' (trousers that are too big, t-shirts that are too small).

You can make a record with anyone from history?
Brian Wilson.

What do you miss about home when you're on tour?
We miss Northern folk and knowing where we are. Also our own beds!

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been too?
Khruangbin at the Trades Club and the track would be 'Mr. White'.

What British music icons inspire your sound today?
Yussef Kamaal.

You can spend an hour with anyone from history?
Salvador Dali because he has a weird mind and it would be cool to get inside his head.

The Orielles are a Halifax trio who we tipped as part of the British New Wave 2017 and are now signed to Heavenly Records

They supported Baxter Dury at Fred Perry SubcultureLive at The 100 Club, London in August 2017. Read about that here.

What was the first song you played on repeat?
'Here Comes Your Man' by Pixies.

One record you would keep forever?
'Crooked Rain' by Pavement.
Chosen track ‘Cut Your Hair'.

Song you wish you had written?
'Keep it Warm' by Flo and Eddie.

Song that defines the teenage you?
'2 become 1' by Spice Girls.

A song lyric that inspires you?
"Slicing up eyeballs
I want you to know."
'Debaser' by Pixies.

4 new songs you can’t stop listening to right now?

'Trouble' by Girl Ray
We saw them in London and they were sick, the song 'Trouble' has not left our head since.

'Fill in the Blank' by Car Seat Headrest
Because it has cool Pavement vibes and the lyrics are also really deep and meaningful.

'Friendship (Is a Small Boat in a Storm)' by Chicano Batman
This tune has great funky undertones! It's so chill, could listen to it all day!

'Real Love Baby' by Father John Misty
Because it's a golden gem and an all round mint tune! That chorus, oosh!
