Name?
Tom Hale

Where are you from?
Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

What do you do?
I'm a Singer/Songwriter.

Describe your style in three words?
Uplifting Cinematic-Pop.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
That's a tricky one, but Kasabian at Victoria Park in Leicester is definitely up there along with Robert Plant at the Hull City Hall. Both gigs blew my mind.

If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
Nirvana & Oasis.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
The whole mod thing had a huge influence on me in my early teens, I loved the style and the music.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Henry Mancini.

Of all the venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
The Picture House Social in Sheffield.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
I would have to say George Harrison. I think that he was the unsung hero in The Beatles and didn't get enough recognition as a songwriter.

Tom Hale is a solo artist from Barnsley, South Yorkshire. After fronting previous bands in the past, he has now decided to go it alone, to discover his own unrestricted style.
His debut EP ‘In the Night’ is available now.

04Playlist Notes

The first track you played on repeat?
'Smells Like Teen Spirit' by Nirvana.

A song that defines the teenage you?
'Anemone' by The Brian Jonestown Massacre.

One record you would keep forever?
'lullaby and... The Ceaseless Roar' by Robert Plant.

A song lyric that has inspired you?
"You better get on your knees and pray, panic is on the way"

'Gas Panic!' by Oasis.

A song you wished you had written?
'Something' by The Beatles.

Best song to turn up loud?
'Feet Don't Fail Me' by Queens of the Stone Age.

A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
'Waiting For An Alibi' by Thin Lizzy.

Any new bands you are listening to now?
Wulfman Fury
The Lemon Twigs
BadBadNotGood
Cameron Avery
