The Fall - icons and innovators of British sub-culture play The 100 Club for the very first time on Thursday 27th July 2017.

"The Fall - always different, always the same.”
John Peel

If there is one band in Britain that has always stood for continuously moving forward - It is The Fall.

Outside of Bowie, there probably isn’t an artist, or band, that has so deftly weaved through the last four decades; constantly reinventing, defying classification (punk, post-punk, new wave, indie or electro pioneers?) maintaining that elusive air of credibility.

The hip priest, Mark E Smith, has always served and defined The Fall. Creating a beacon (or deacon) for a generation of artists determined not to conform to the establishment - from Sonic Youth to The Fat White Family and Cabbage. As prolific now as they were in the 70’s and still driven by their own hypnotic and unrelenting beat.

In over four decades of gigs, Mark E Smith has never played the legendary 100 Club stage, in London. Two icons of British music are now brought together for the very first time.

The Fall formed in Manchester in 1976 and has existed ever since. Built around its founder and only constant member, Mark E. Smith, the group's music has gone through several stylistic changes over the years but is often characterised by an abrasive guitar‐driven sound and frequent use of repetition, always underpinned by Smith's distinctive vocals and often cryptic lyrics.
