Having already released a critically acclaimed debut album Mixed Blessings earlier this year, which you can listen to below, as well as recent appearances at Glastonbury and Bestival, South-London trio Beaty Heart have announced details of their next single, ‘Banana Bread’ and tour supports with Kishi Bashi and Jungle.
Watch the video for the album opener ‘Banana Bread’ below, which the band describe as “An intro into the world of Beaty Heart, a fruity fresh array of colour adorned with the possessions they choose to surround themselves with and is a rounded overview perspective of what makes up the album. The instruments that were used to record it and the objects that inspired it."
With a sound that remains as positive as it is progressive, Beaty Heart provide layered, cacophonous and glorious off-kilter, left-field alt-pop; intoxicated throughout with a playful naivety.
With influences taken from The Beach Boys, Olivia Tremor Control, Lee Scratch Perry and pop music from around the world, Mixed Blessings was recorded during the later end of 2013, with esteemed producer Dave Eringa, and sees the band fulfil their early potential and deliver a record that shows their continuous journey; developing their tropical infused pop with a more exposed structured sound, whilst retaining their strong percussive backbone and off-kilter left-field ethos.
Mixed Blessings is available now through via Nusic Sounds / Caroline with the band joining Kishi Bashi on a UK tour and Jungle on tour throughout the US later this autumn, playing the following dates.
