With Coachella dominating the US scene for the next two weekends we thought we'd cast our eyes over the expansive line-up and give you a Subculture digest of what's going on, and where.

Blur, New Order, Stone Roses and some other big headline names jump out of the line-up, as do Nick Cave, How To Destroy Angels, and Jello Biafra, the list is huge, but we're going to dive straight in with what, for us, is the key story of the festival...

The Selecter -  Sat Apr 20th, 4:45pm - 5:35pm, Gobi
(Pictured above) It was a huge honour for us to talk to The Selecter's Pauline Black earlier this year, when she told us about their plans to tour the US, including their Coachella show. Much like The Specials, it's hard to convey how important this band is to the history of counterculture and music in the UK over the last 35 years.

Here too, are some of the other Coachella artists to catch, if you can:

Deap Vally - Sun Apr 21st, 12:00pm - 12:30pm, Mojave
Announced as one of the must see bands at this year's Dot to Dot festival, Deap Vally have set pulses racing over the last couple of months with their highly charged, provocative indie-rock n roll. Watch the video for their track "Lies" below:

Wild Belle - Sun Apr 14th, 12:00pm - 12:30pm, Outdoor
A brother and sister duo from Chicago, Wild Belle make intelligent pop music, cleverly drawing together elements of retro pop, jazz, reggae and R&B.

Youth Lagoon - Fri Apr 12th, 2:00pm - 2:45pm, Mojave
Continuing the psychedelic momentum he has built up over the last three months, Youth Lagoon will also perform.

Jake Bugg - Fri Apr 12th, 3:05pm - 3:50pm, Mojave
Quite frankly, it feels quite surreal to think that 10 months ago we were sitting on a bus in Nottingham talking to Jake Bugg about the local music scene. Since then his rise has been truly meteoric. He announced this week that he will be Supporting The Rolling Stones at Hyde Park.

Johnny Marr - Fri Apr 12th, 4:15pm - 5:00pm, Mojave
Finishing up with another British legend we have Johnny Marr. Arguably the pivotal guitar force of British, and world, counterculture, be it with The Smiths, The Cribs or solo.

Timings are as stated at time of publishing - For the full line-up go to www.coachella.com
