Over the last eight and a bit years, London-based THIS FEELING clubnight has forged a formidable reputation for fighting the corner for the best new guitar bands around, bringing you them first and putting on a great big party whilst they're at it.
"This Feeling is the best club in the UK for rock'n'roll music. They are doing a great job of highlighting and supporting new bands. They believe in UK guitar music and are doing all they can to get it out there." Alan McGee
This Feeling have, once again, kindly found time to share their pick of the best new British rock n roll indie bands they're buzzing off, listed below.
Black Rivers - The Ship
Black Rivers, the new band from Jez & Andy Williams, two thirds of Doves. Debut album out next month (it's so good), Black Rivers will be one of the bands to catch at a festival this year.
Asylums - I've Seen Your Face in a Music Magazine
Southend's indie rock superstars in the making. Full-throttle grunge power pop, like Nirvana crossed with Blur.
The Bohicas - Swarm
Big, punchy Strokes-y in your face choruses. Huge, infectious live energy and mental live shows. Signed to cool as fuck Domino Records and a clutch of monster singles to be released, there's no doubt 2015 is gonna be a big year for these Essex boys.
Billy Lockett - Never Let You Go
Northampton-born YouTube sensation with a mesmeric voice. Intelligent, lyrically elegant music with knowing nods to bands like Radiohead and Massive Attack. Yeah, he's that good.
The Bulletproof Bomb - Five Green Bottles
Rapidly rising Surrey youngsters with riotous riffs, punchy choruses with loads of laddish charm.
The Jacques - Pretty DJ
Timeless guitar pop full of that unmistakable British charm - these Bristol teens recall The Libertines at their raggedly romantic best. Gary Powell, Libertines drummer signed the band (to his label 25 Hour Convenience Store) on the spot after seeing them perform in Hyde Park.
Blossoms - Blow
Psych rockers from Manchester but unlike many of the so called psych revivalist lot, these boys bring moments of Merseybeat pop perfection to the table, too. Signed to The Coral's James Skelly's label and having supported The Courteeners last year, it's all set systems go for Blossoms to bloom in 2015.
Sundowners - Hummingbird
Long time favourites of ours at This Feeling it looks like things are about to properly take off for The Sundowners with their debut album due for release this month and a headline tour of the UK next month. If you love The Coral, Fleetwood Mac, wonderful warm melodies and moments of pure pop perfection, check these out.
Dolimite Minor - Let Me Go
Jaw droppingly loud duo from the south coast set to a Royal Blood this year.
Two Weeks Running - Stay Forever
Hard and fast Bolton five-piece dripping with punk pop attitude. Explosive indie rock in the Bloc Party mould.
High Tyde - Uh Oh
Fresh, exciting indie pop from Brighton. Radio 1 are giving these boys loads of love at the moment, get on their debut single 'Feel It', you won't regret it.
Neon Waltz - Bare Wood Aisles
Psychedelic melodic indie rock that reminds us of The Coral, never a bad thing. Noel Gallagher's a massive fan which is never a bad thing, either! Gloriously good live this lot, go see them as soon as you can.
Lust - Looking Glass
Lazy, hazy, psychedelic guitar pop from seriously talented new London five-piece set to do some damage this year.
As well as the above, check out these up-and-coming artists, not yet on Spotify -
Pretty Vicious - Cave Song
Tipped for big things in 2015 Pretty Vicious bring big guitars, raw vocals in the early Oasis / Manics mould and a sense of real optimism to the table.
Great new Manchester band managed by legendary Creation Records boss Alan McGee. Everyman melodies, eclectic influences and real strut and a swagger.
Proper guitar anthems from slick London five-piece with smouldering Ashcroft-esque vocals and choruses close to pop perfection. Recently signed a 3 album deal with MUK Records.
The Vryll Society
Like a Scouse Pink Floyd - a glorious mash-up of styles, from funk to Krautrock. Signed to the legendary and hugely influential Liverpool label Deltasonic.
Raunchy, sleazy riffs of the highest order - like Arctic Monkeys crossed with Miles Kane.
Drawing excited comparisons with bands such as LCD Soundsystem, Tame Impala, The Chemical Brothers and Death In Vegas, the band mix soaring synths with kinetic breakbeats and bruising basslines, creating a glorious fusion of styles from sublime psychedelic rock to pumping dance music and everything in between.
