Introduce yourself
My name is Shaheed Naz and I’m a music producer and DJ.

Describe your style in 3 words?
Strong and functional.

What does the Fred Perry Shirt mean to you?
For me, it’s the ultimate shirt for the working man who wants to look classy and sophisticated. You could wear it to various occasions and still look like you belong.

What is the first song you played on repeat?
'Straight Up' by Paula Abdul.

What is one record you would keep forever?
Hed Kandi Beach House compilation. I love the music selection on it and the album art by Jason Brooks is breathtaking.

What is a song lyric that has inspired you?
'Stall Out' by Mute Math. That song has given me tons of inspiration to face personal challenges and obstacles everytime. The most beautiful part of the verse is when the hook goes “We are still far from over”. That line blazes up the fire in me to get up and fight through whatever challenges I’m facing.

What has been the best gig you've been to?
Back in 2010 Toomanydjs live in KL, for me, it was an awesome experience enjoying the sound, the set and the visuals.

Who is your ultimate British musical icon?
London Elektricity.

What song do you wish you had written?
‘Remember The Future’ by London Elektricity.

Where do you go to see live music?
I don’t have a regular spot, but I try my best to see as many shows as I can when I can. I also host a techno party outside of DANGERDISKO under the brand BEATMILITIA, which is a monthly party where we gather the best techno acts from inside the region.

04Playlist Notes

“Sax on the beach' by Party Pupil.
The song never fails to put a smile on my face.

'Feral Youth' by Gigamesh.
This song has that minimal feel in it which really grabs my attention.

'Distorted' by Boys Noize.
This track gives me the energy and drive to push forward.

'Love Love Love' by Moulinex.
A perfect to track listen when you’re chilling on a hammock by the beach.

'Your Touch' by Klyne.
The melody of the music just makes me wanna pull the 1st girl I see to the dance floor.

'Dance' by Uppermost.
Just like the title, it commands you to dance.

'My Flame' by Bobby Caldwell
Best song to listen during rainy season served with a cup of tea and a few shortbread chilling by the window and reminiscing on the good old days.

'Last Name London (Brondinski Remix)' by Theophilus London.
This song just makes me wanna get dirty all the time.

'Belong To You' by Sabrina Claudio.
Her voice is soothing to my ears and the music is perfect to be enjoyed in bed.
