Dave Rowntree Selects

Exclusive Dot to Dot Curated Playlist

Monday 13th July 2015

We are very proud to bring you another pick of tracks selected by legendary drummer Dave Rowntree (Blur, xfm) from the Dot to Dot Festival line up. Dave is an avid listener of new music and renowned for breaking great new bands on his xfm radio show.

Dave will be joining Fred Perry Subculture at Dot to Dot - Nottingham on 24th May to soak up the sounds and festival atmosphere. He will also play a very special after show DJ set on the Subculture stage. Definitely a set you don’t want to miss.

Rhodes - Run
Gorgeous melancholy from last year’s ‘Raise Your Love’ EP.

Vant - Parasite
Punky, political, and on Parlophone. What’s not to like?

H. Hawkline - Moons In My Mirror
Angular jagged pop from the new album ‘In the Pink of Condition’, produced by Cate Le Bon.

C. Duncan - For
One of the most ambitious and interesting musicians of the moment, with a haunting folky pop lament.

Oscar & The Wolf - Undress
Lush sensual electronica that will make you forget he’s not called Oscar, and there are no wolves.

Tei Shi - Bassically
From Buenos Aires via Brooklyn, singer-songwriter Valerie Teicher writes earworm tunes that leave journalists struggling to categorise them.

Laurel - To The Hills
Despite comparisons to Laura Marling, Laurel is most definitely doing her own thing, which manages to be both fragile and epic.

Rae Morris - Skin
The standout track on her debut album. Melancholy and beautiful in equal measure.

All Tvvins - Thank You
This is the first release from the Dublin duo, who have already bagged support slots with Pixies, Arcade Fire, and Jungle.

Black Honey - Madonna
Another ridiculously catchy chorus from the Brighton foursome. I’ve loved everything they’ve released so far.

Pins - Too Little Too Late
A track from the Manchester band’s much-anticipated new album ‘Wild Nights’.

Pretty Vicious - It's Always There
The band only played their first gig at Christmas. Since then they’ve signed to a major label, and have launched into a nationwide tour. You heard them on my radio show first!

Swim Deep - Honey
Still the finest moment from Birmingham’s finest indie popsters.

Little May - Hide
My favourite track from the band’s debut EP. If they can keep this up, they’re going to be huge.

Racing Glaciers - Moths
A beautiful song from the band’s 2013 EP. They are working on their new album as we speak.

Menace Beach - Come On Give Up
A great track from a veritable supergroup that seem to have even more famous members than The Polyphonic Spree.

Nothing But Thieves - Itch
An anthemic crowd favourite from the Southend boys’ EP 'If You Don’t Believe, It Can’t Hurt You'.

The Dot to Dot Festival is the best inner city new music festival in the UK, and has earned a reputation for showcasing and breaking some of the most exciting artists around. Fred Perry has always had a unique relationship with British Subcultures and music, and this history still informs the brand today. Dot to Dot perfectly embodies this spirit of heritage and new coming together.
