Post-punk meets Britpop

Sunday 19th May 2013

JAWS are a young four piece hailing from the currently buzzing Birmingham music scene. Comprised of Connor on vocals/keyboard/guitar, Eddy on drums, Jake on bass and Alex on guitar, the band met while studying at Halesowen College and are aged 16 to 18.

Having performed alongside fellow rising Brummies Peace and Swim Deep, the band have an elusive DNA of influences stretching from UK post-punk and new wave godfathers such as Joy Division and The Cure to West Coast slacker-rock of the grunge era and hazy textures of the Cocteau Twins, their sound charts that blurred and ever-ecstatic hinterland being populated by a new generation of inventive UK guitar bands, unified by a sense of the visceral and carefree.

Forming in February 2012, the band quickly drew attention with their ‘Milkshake’ EP released last year, featuring ‘Gold.

New track 'Think Too Much Feel Too Little' can be heard below.
