Amy is a documentary depicting the life and story of Amy Winehouse, one of the greatest singers and songwriters of the Twenty-first century. The documentary film will be realeased in the UK July 3, just before the fourth anniversary of the singer’s death. Watch the official trailer below.

Amy is directed by British filmmaker Asif Kapadia, and features previously unseen archive footage and unheard tracks. Kapadia’s 2010 documentary Senna, about late Formula One star Ayrton Senna, earned critical acclaim and picked up two BAFTA awards.

Amy has left a huge legacy since she died at the tender age of 27, having touched the heart of many with her unique performances, warm charisma, and ability to create eclectic music spanning a mix of musical genres, including soul, rhythm and blues, jazz and reggaeShe released two critically acclaimed albums, including 2006’s Back to Black, which earned her five Grammy Awards. The documentary will hopefully further ensure her unique talents, amazing life and memories live on. 

Amy worked closely with Fred Perry, having once performed at a Fred Perry Subculture Live gig alongside Mark Ronson, as well as having designed her own collection for the label. Horace Panter from The Specials recently painted Amy wearing a classic shirt too.

Fellow artist Peter Doherty, recently unveiled the single 'Flags Of The Old Regime' written about and as a tribute to his friend Amy Winehouse.

The single was officially released Monday 9th March through Walk Tall Recording in aid of the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which will receive all proceeds from the profits of the single.

The Amy Winehouse Foundation works to prevent the effects of drug and alcohol misuse on young people. They also aim to support, inform and inspire vulnerable and disadvantaged young people to help them reach their full potential.
