On top of these, The Who Hits 50 compilation album will also be released on 180gm vinyl, in support of the band's 50th anniversary and recent associated tour. The album includes the band's Rolling Stones cover "The Last Time", other less-known singles "Dogs" and "Relay", one brand new song, "Be Lucky" recorded during 2014 sessions, as well as more familiar tunes, album-only tracks and B-sides.
As well as the imminent release of the above goodies next month, a fantastic singles box has now become available for preorder; The Bruswick Singles Box 1965-1966, due for official release on April 6th, as the first of four 45 box sets released as part of The Who vinyl campaign. The singles boxes will contain classic Who British singles via labels at the time; Brunswick, Reaction, Track and Polydor.
Bruswick Singles Box 1965-1966 contains 7-inch singles from the very start of The Who's career, each pressed on heavyweight vinyl with paper sleeves reproducing the period graphics front and back with die-cut centre holes. The singles are housed in a rigid ‘lid-and-tray’ outer box and feature a 7” sized colour booklet with liner notes about each release by Who biographer, Mark Blake.
Disks include "My Generation", "I Can’t Explain", and "Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere" as well as unreleased single "Circles" backed with ‘Instant Party Mixture’. There is also a bonus 7" featuring the band’s first single as the High Numbers - "Zoot Suit" backed with "I’m The Face". Preorder here.
The Who will embark on a huge American tour as part of 'The Who Hits 50!' tour, after embarking on two huge shows at London's o2 Arena on March 22nd and 23rd. Full dates here.
