Describe your style in three words?
Fred Perry Deadbeat
The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?
The Streets - Let's Push Things Forward
Every pirate radio, house party DJ and car stereo played this album in the early 2000s council universe, by the time I was 6 or so I knew the album off by heart but I'll always have a soft spot for this one. Good life motto to have.
A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?
IDLES - Samaritans
"THE" album of this generation and an IDLES song about Toxic Masculinity and Gender Roles, it's necessary listening in today's society. In fact every IDLES song is necessary listening in today's society.
A song from your most memorable gig?
Slipknot - Spit It Out
Slipknot was the first band I saw and the first festival I went to they headlined. To be honest some of the mad crowd surfing I've done at their shows, one of their shows will probably be my last.
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
The Specials - Do the Dog - 2015 Remaster
There are three types of people: Fighters, Dancers and Talkers. This absolute banger makes everyone dance. DO THE DOG! NOT THE DONKEY!
A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?
P.E.T - Tommy
I don't want to know what Tommy did to piss off these lot, but it makes for some pretty sweet Brummie based riot grrrl.
Best song to turn up loud? And why?
David Bowie - Fame - 2016 Remaster
That dirty fuzzy guitar, that riff, Bowie shouting "FAAAAME", that little Dun Dun Dun bit in the middle, this song just oozes style and could fit all the other questions here. Bowie absolute legendary.
A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?
Suicidal Tendencies - Institutionalized
"ALL I WANTED WAS A PEPSI!" An absolute classic written by 16 year olds for 16 year olds, as relevant to teenagers in '83 as it is today.
An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?
Slaves - White Knuckle Ride
Is it cheating having two Slaves songs? These lads just have a way of magnifying certain seeming simple things and turning them into tunes that you just have to belt out. Most Slaves is like this, this song is my most memorable sing along song.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
Slaves - Acts Of Fear And Love
It's one of them songs that goes from melodic to belting it out so quickly it's perfect to end the night, it makes you ponder about your choices over the past few hours. There's no such thing as hate only acts of fear and love.
