Describe your style in three words?
Cool, modern and soulful.
The first track you played on repeat?
David Bowie - Starman - 2012 Remaster
I first heard this song when I was a child. My dad was into Bowie, ELO, Beatles etc and had a small collection of vinyl so we’d sit around the record player and listen. I love the cosmic piano into the chorus… still do today.
A song from your favorite album?
Marvin Gaye - Ain't That Peculiar - Single Version
A massive fan of Marvin Gaye and totally love this track that always gets the crowd dancing at the club.
A song from your most memorable gig?
Gil Scott-Heron - The Bottle
Massive lover of soul and funk and managed to see Gil Scott-Heron live and he didn’t disappoint. Jamiroquai came on stage and they did this song together… utterly amazing.
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
Jackson Sisters - I Believe In Miracles
There’s no better song to get you up dancing than 'I Believe In Miracles' by the Jackson Sisters. It’s a classic funk dance song.
A new song you're listening to?
Speedometer - All In (feat. Vanessa Jamie)
Big fan of speedometer… a modern funk piece with a classic retro sound… love 'em.
Best song to turn up loud?
Public Enemy - Fight The Power
Such an awesome powerful song that you can only play loud in my opinion.
A song that defines the teenage you?
Booker T. & the M.G.'s - Green Onions
Remember hearing this when I was a teenager and it turned my head. I wanted a scooter and to be a mod.
An anthemic song?
Marlena Shaw - California Soul
Such a great jazz funk piece that’s been sampled by a string of great artists as well as used on tv too. Timeless classic.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
Sly & The Family Stone - Family Affair - Single Version
A low key chilled number by Sly Stone with a programmable beat and cool lyrics.
