Name?
Jake James

Where are you from?
Clacton On Sea, Essex.

What do you do?
Lead singer in BREED.

Describe your style in three words?
Tramps Pay Day.

If you could make a record with anyone from history?
‪Jack White, he is an absolute genius!

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to and why?
‪Kasabian at T in the Park 2015, when 'Bumblebee' kicked off it was carnage! The line up the whole weekend was mental, Noely G, Libertines, Prodigy, Jamie T, the list goes on!‬

What British music icons inspire your sound today?
We've been told we sound like a ‪kasabian‬ with sabbaths riffs, which is probably the biggest compliment ever! We started out to be a heavier/meatier ‪kasabian‬. The start of Black Sabbath's 'War Pigs' gets everyone going doesn't it?

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Bowie, all day! We share the same birthday so I could open up with that to start the conversation. He was so ahead of his time, he's greatest hits album could be 100 tracks deep! Apparently, he always smelt proper nice as well.

Which British subculture means the most to you?
The Britpop era, I weren't old enough to experience it, but I can't get enough of hardly anything from the 90s, even the boy bands were quality!

If you could share the bill with any British band in history?
Oasis, no question, the after party man, we'd smash our set out in minutes just to rush to that! 'My Big Mouth' by Oasis proper gets me going as well man, it's just bang, right in your moosh!

What music did you listen to growing up?
We grew up on KISS, ACDC, ‪Aerosmith‬, ‪Van Halen‬ etc... I'm surprised I don't wear or that glittery Lycra gear to be fair, I got the barnet for it. But still now, when David Lee Roth's Yankee Rose' comes on, that's getting turned all the way up!

04Playlist Notes

What was the first song you played on repeat?
'Fame' by ‪David Bowie‬, makes me strut about when it comes on shuffle!

One record you would keep forever?
'Headshrinker' by Oasis - never ever have I skipped that song, gets me right up for it!

A song you wish you had written?
Got to be 'Sympathy For The Devil' by Rolling Stones, I'd be snake hippin' my way all over the stage if I was busting that out as well!

A song that defines the teenage you?
‪'From The Ritz To The Rubble' by Arctic Monkeys - everyone's been there‬.

What was the last piece of music you bought?
Prince - Greatest Hits, you can try and hit the notes and try is all you can do! 'Purple Rain', f*** me!

A song lyric that inspires you?
"Comin' in a mess going out in style, I ain't good lookin' but I'm someone's child."

'D'You Know What I Mean' by Oasis.

Is there a song you like that people wouldn’t expect?
‪'Bartender' by T-Pain - I don't care who knows it, it's a banger‬.

Best song to turn up loud?
'American Bad Ass' by Kid Rock! Straight back to my Kerrang days! What a belter!

Best song to bring people together?
'Caravan Of Love' by ‪The Housemartins‬, no instruments in it and none required! Straight from the heart!

Any new bands you can’t stop listening to right now?

Paves - Baby
We've known these boys a while now and their live performance man. Proper musicians! So sweet off the stage as well and they're proper cool! They might even be too cool y'know?

False Heads - twentynothing
These boys let us support 'em on our 2nd ever show, riffs everywhere! You can't look away from the stage for a second coz you'll miss something that will blow you away

The Blinders - Brave New World
Heard about these boys for a while, managed to catch them at Reading Festival before we went on this year and f***ing hell. What a band, every tune was class. Proper meant something to everyone in there.

Strange Bones - We The Rats
Don't turn up to their show if you've got no energy.... one of the best live bands I've seen in ages. They just have it right from the start all the way through, you go to a show, you get involved. Simple!

SHEAFS - Mind Pollution
Caught these boys headline and close The Jack Rocks This Feeling tent on the Sunday night at Reading Festival! Oh my word, they had the crowd on the stage then back then in the palm of their hands!

Himalayas - Thank god I'm not you
Nicest boys, Phenomenal live, over a million streams on 1 track on Spotify... Need I say more, these little welsh beauty's are smashing it!

Rosko - The Boys
I think they're a band of models to be fair, none the less. Lovely boys proper geezers, they work that stage like it's nothing! This track is a proper banger!

Proletariat - Ignorance
Played with these at the Tramlines and Y not festival warm up show in Camden for This Feeling, couldn't believe how young and how good they were!
