Where are you from?
Liverpool
Why do you love what do?
It's just cushty innit? What better reason to be skint than for the love of music. That moment of conception of a new song idea is priceless. You get to meet some fairly interesting sorts too.
Describe your style in three words?
Jeckle, Hyde, Tomfoolery.
What makes Liverpool remain so special musically?
It's all in the Gulf Stream maaaan! But that's slowly dying so who knows for how long!!!
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been too?
Arthur Lee with Shack in L'pool Academy in the early 90s probably or La's in The World downstairs late 80s perhaps?
What music did you listen to growing up?
I was sharing a room with my teenage brother when punk hit the mainstream, I was aged about seven or eight. Previous to that Mum and Dad's Beatles and Motown. When I came of age to start buying I guess I wanted to fill in some gaps so started getting into the rarer side of 60s stuff which led me to the jazz and soul and a bit of everything that way inclined.
What British music icons inspire your sound today?
The ones who dig rhythm and blues (and do something about it!).

Edgar Jones has been a figure on the Liverpool music scene since he was 18, filling a role as Ian McCulloch's (Echo and The Bunnymen) bassist before forming his own band, The Stairs.
Edgar Jones has also played bass for Paul Weller, Johnny Marr and Love. His latest solo album, 'The Song of Day and Night', released through Skeleton Key, sees him explore his love of rhythm and blues and soul.

What was the first song you played on repeat?
Repeat!! We had to rewind cassettes with a pencil back in my day. My bro had a tape with 'Fire' by Jimmy Hendrix end of one side and Yardbirds 'For Your Love' on the start of the other. I used to flip it to death.
One record you would keep forever?
'If It's All The Same To You Babe' by Luther Ingram or the instrumental flipside.
What was the last piece of music you bought?
'Boogie Chillun Part 2' by Slim Harpo on Jazzman Reish.
