04Playlist Notes

Why iii Love The Moon - Phony Ppl
We had not heard this song before we sat down to make this playlist and we feel like our lives have been missing something up until now.

Int’l Players Anthem (I Choose You) - UGK ft. Outkast
You’ll often hear this song whenever we do a Honne DJ set. Perfect soul/summer vibe to it and then the beat drops and you feel like you’ve made it.

Love Has Come Around - Donald Byrd
James and I heard this song whilst clothes shopping. It came on, we both looked at each other and simultaneously pulled our phones out to Shazam it. Such a classic.

Feel Like Makin’ Love - D’Angelo
We were blown away when our friend George introduced us to D’Angelo. Definitely one to get people in the mood.

Colours Of Freedom - Tom Misch
Tom is a fantastic artist who is going to go on and do incredible things. We’ve played alongside him on various festival slots now.  Hopefully there will be many more!

Turnin’ Me Up - BJ The Chicago Kid
We’re very eager to get stuck into the rest of this album after hearing this one track. I’ve got a feeling this might soundtrack our trip around the US.

So Far To Go - J Dilla ft. Common and D’Angelo
We are big fans of J Dilla and his sample-heavy productions, which inspired us to make use of samples in our music. A song called ‘Treat You Right’ from our record is a good example of this influence.

Coronus, The Terminator - Flying Lotus
Absolutely love Flying Lotus’ productions. This one in particular is so soulful. I just want to lie back whenever I put this on and daydream about flying through the clouds.
