Name?
Mein Name ist Jah Wobble. Ich Weiss Von Nichts.

Where are you from?
Ostseebad Binz.

What do you do?
I was formerly a Baron. But all that suffered a down turn. I had to have it 'on my toes'. At present, I am employed as a professional electric bass player.

Describe your style in three words?
Haberdashery strut foible.

If you could make a record with anyone from history?
Ludwig Van Beethoven - He was intense and he grooved. It's the 7th all day long for me. A stately piece of music.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to and why?
Bob Marley - 1975 London Lyceum. It's still a country mile ahead of anything else I've ever seen musically.

What music icons inspire your sound today?
Arvo Part.

Are there any British subcultures that mean something to you?
I think the whole Park Bowling scene is pretty hip. It's very English of course - Curling would be its Scottish alternative.

What music did you listen to growing up?
Blue Beat /Ska.

Jah Wobble became known to a wider audience as the original bass player in Public Image Ltd (PiL). He left after their first two albums and has gone on to have a successful solo career.

His latest album 'The Usual Suspects' was released in June 2017 under the name Jah Wobble & The Invaders Of The Heart.

‘Big Fun’ by Miles Davis.

‘Higher Ground’ from ‘Innervisions’ by Stevie Wonder.

'Hoots Mon!' by Lord Rockingham.
"There's a moose loose aboot this hoose!"

A song that defines the teenage you?
‘I Love Music’ by The O'Jays.

What was the last piece of music you bought?
‘Starfield’ by The Ambient Drones Of Bill Baxter.

A song lyric that inspires you?
I like it when The Beatles sing "Umper, Umper, Stick It Up Your Jumper" at the end of ‘I Am The Walrus’.
It reminds me that being in the studio can be fun.

Is there a song you like that people wouldn’t expect?
‘Can't Help Falling In Love’ by Elvis Presley.

Best love song of all time?
‘Can't Help Falling In Love’ by Elvis Presley.

Best song to turn up loud?
‘Faith Healer’ by Sensational Alex Harvey Band.

Best song to bring people together?
I have always found ‘The Hokey Cokey’ and ‘Knees Up Mother Brown’ to do the trick.

What new music are you listening to?
I listen to composers such as Arvo Part, Harold Budd, and Gorecki. I don't listen to too much contemporary music.
