03Interview

Describe your style in three words?

Simple Vintage Chilled.

The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?

Oasis - Half the World Away

When I was a kid my dad made a CD and this was one of the tracks on it. It’s one of my earliest music memories.

A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?

DIIV - Earthboy

This album was the first sort of underground thing I ever listened to after reading about the singer getting arrested for drug possession. It’s still my favourite to this day.

A song from your most memorable gig?

Mac DeMarco - On the Level

Saw Mac in Edinburgh a few years ago. I never thought I’d get to see him and it’s still the best show I’ve ever been to.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

Project Pablo - Closer

It’s the catchy hook and weird sounds that get me every time.

A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?

Hotel Lux - Eddie's Gaff

Very good relatable story telling, with a very catchy yet slightly depressing chorus.

Best song to turn up loud? And why?

My Bloody Valentine - Only Shallow

The craziest sounding song that just has to be played loud.

A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?

Eyedress - Separation Anxiety

One of the first records I ever bought, just really punky and odd sounding.

An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?

Nas - Lifes a Bitch

The message of this song is so simple and timeless.

Best song to end an all-nighter?

Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart

It’s the best song ever written.
