A Jordan Allen Photo
What is your name? Where are you from?
Jordan Samuel Allen from Bolton.
What do you do?
Go to Wetherspoons, in my spare time I write songs and I'm the frontman for Jordan Allen.
Describe your style in three words?
"White, Indie, Kanye." is the best description I've heard so far. They just can't pin us down can they?
How should your music be listened to?
On vinyl preferably, but failing that Spotify or iTunes will do just fine.
What do you miss about home when you’re on tour?
My dog, Parsley. Yeah he's named after the Parsley the Lion from The Herbs. (If you don't know what I'm on about Google it you'll kick yourself.)
What British music icons inspire your sound today?
Bowie, The Libertines, Franz Ferdinand, Pulp, The Jam.
What was the first song you played on repeat?
'Heaven is a Halfpipe' - OPM
... Still an absolute banger.
A song from your favourite album?
'Vicious' - Lou Reed from Transformer
Without a doubt my favourite album, it takes me to a different planet, Vicious is the opening track.
Song you wish you had written / Music icon that has inspired you?
The Damned - 'New Rose'
Maybe the perfect punk song? I don't claim to be a big fan of the band, but this song has always captivated me. Is she really going out with him? DER, DER DER DER...
Untitled 06 | 06.30.2014 - Kendrick Lamar
Probably my favourite song of 2016 so far. I didn't get my head around this guy until a year or so ago, but I'm glad I did, he'll go down as a true icon of our generation.
Acrylic - Courteeners
The song that made me want to pick a guitar up, can't really leave it off here.
Steve Harley, Cockney Rebel - Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me)
My dad's favourite song, reminds me of driving about in his car as a kid. Mint guitar solo.
Queen Bitch - David Bowie
I feel like enough people haven't heard this song. The tune speaks for itself.
Give Me the Night - George Benson
My best mates mum gave me this on vinyl. Thanks Lesley, best present ever.
Blueprint - No Half Smokin'
Lyrical Masterpiece. I may or may not know every word to it.
Too Much Too Soon - Jordan Allen
Bonus Track - Best song on the playlist. (Except for George Benson obviously).
