03Interview

Describe your style in three words?

Abstract and odd.

The first track you played on repeat?

DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince - Boom! Shake the Room

I think as a kid I was just a huge Will Smith fan. So naturally, I gravitated towards that lol.

A song from your favorite album?

Frank Ocean - Nights

YO 'BLONDE' IS FIRE. I'm not sure if it's my favourite album yet, but it really impacted my life. Vegyn did his thing on this track too.

A song from your most memorable gig?

Kendrick Lamar - HiiiPower

Kendrick Lamar's show in London 2012 was my first concert, and honestly, the whole crowd knew the lyrics, it was a mazza of an experience.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

Joe Budden - Pump It Up

So I watched 'You Got Served', and the final song was that. Been stuck in my head ever since. Go to dance song.

A new song you're listening to?

The Streets - Wrong Answers Only

This song is amazing, 'A Grand Don't Come for Free' is one of my favourite albums, and I'm excited for Master Peace. I couldn't stop playing this, I still can't.

Best song to turn up loud?

Bicep - Glue

It just has me stuck in my thoughts, and it's honestly such a journey without doing too much.

A song that defines the teenage you?

Childish Gambino - 3005

The existential crisis in this describes me to a tee and honestly, gorgeous song.

An anthemic song?

Playboi Carti - Magnolia

CARTI! Yeah, this song is an anthem, Carti changed the game for me. But it also signified a change in hip-hop for me, so it was exciting.

Best song to end an all-nighter?

Prince - Purple Rain

Greatest song of all time, I feel complete after.
