Describe your style in three words?
Bold, Feminine, Classic.
The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?
The Beatles - Drive My Car - Remastered 2009
My dad only really had one cassette/CD in the car and it was 'Rubber Soul' by The Beatles. I remember asking for this song over and over again as we drove to school. Still a massive favourite.
A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?
Weezer - In The Garage
This album is ace. It's one you can just put on and everyone instantly recognises it. This song is something you can stomp along and shout out loud to. I love to put this album on in the car on long drives when you're flagging, it's so punchy and playful and loud.
A song from your most memorable gig?
Foo Fighters - Everlong
Glastonbury 2017. Foo Fighters are up there on my top artist list and I had missed so many opportunities to see them over the years I just thought it wasn't meant to be. As soon as I heard that guitar riff play I literally felt like I was 15 again.
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
Whitney Houston - I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)
Anyone who says this song doesn't make them want to tap their feet or lip sync to this is a liar. How can you NOT dance to Whitney?! It's a staple in DJ sets, especially with hard crowds as I know that people will come to the dance floor for this song.
A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?
Mark Ronson - Pieces of Us (feat. King Princess)
Not hugely new, but this album keeps pulling me back and this song is a stand out favourite. I am in love with the way King Princess writes with Mark Ronson, it's a perfect coupling. I am a HUGE Mark Ronson fan and this album was exactly what I needed. Definition of a Sad Banger.
Best song to turn up loud? And why?
My Chemical Romance - Teenagers
This is a BANGER and it makes you want to shout out the lyrics so hard like the emo teenager you are inside. This is such a hit for DJ sets and I love playing it and watching the crowd get into it.
A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?
The Kooks - Seaside
Mopey, indie, lovestruck, this song is every indie kid that grew up in 2000's. Doing the cliché thing of listening to this on the bus to work fifty times looking longingly out of the window, waiting for some boy to text me and ask me if I want to go to the seaside.
An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?
Robyn - Dancing On My Own
This song regularly breaks my heart and puts it back together again in the space of four and a half minutes. Absolute ultimate Sad Banger. It's there for everyone who feels heartbroken, who are moving on, who need to remember that you only need to be happy in yourself.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
Natalie Imbruglia - Torn
This is Stacey & I's ultimate karaoke/end of night song. The lyrics are great, the solo at the end of the song is my favourite thing to air guitar to (any DJ that cuts this bit is doing this song a massive disservice!) It's just the best way to finish a night on a high.
