03Interview

What music defines the teenage you?
Oh, so many. I’m really thankful my teenage years happened during the mid to late '90s when alternative and Britpop reigned. Nothing beats going through teenage angst with bands like Silverchair, Garbage, and Manic Street Preachers.

A song from your favourite album?
'I Don’t Know You' from my current favourite album The Marias’ EP Superclean. I believe this band is going to be very big in the year to come.

Best song to turn up loud?
'Lord Of This World' by Black Sabbath.

What new music are you listening to?
I’m really into GOLF right now and Pink Sweat$.

What are you working on at the moment?
Social Media strategy pitches. Lots and lots of it. I like being a pitch bitch.

04Playlist Notes

'ラビリンス' by Mondo Grosso.
Great song, awesome music video. This is the kind of song that never fails to make you dance

'One Step Ahead' by Aretha Franklin.
Aretha just passed away yesterday. I just HAD to add my favourite Aretha song.

'Lover Boy' by Phum Viphurit.
Totally into this Thai singer/songwriter’s music at the moment. Great addition to your pool/beach playlist

'Sunsets Pt. 2' by SG Lewis.
This song is on repeat at the moment. I like to play this in the mornings when I’m stuck in traffic.

'Ocean' by NJWA.
One of my most favourite local artists, I love how Najwa changed her style from this classic R&B sound (which I loved as well) to this darker, more modern r&b sound. This is such a beautiful song.

'Limestone' by Magic City Hippies.
This is another easy listening song you can add to your beach playlist

'Heaven' by liv.
This is one supergroup that doesn’t suck (haha). Formed by Lykke Li, Andrew and Pontus of Miike Snow, Björn Yttling of Peter Bjorn and John, and Jeff Bhasker

'Honesty' by Pink Sweat$.
Real feels.

'Woman' by Cat Power feat. Lana Del Ray.
A surprising, yet brilliant combination. These two musicians come together to sing this soulful song that will be featured in Cat Power’s 10th studio release. Looking forward to the album.

'Welcome Home' by Charlie Lim.
I’ve been a long time fan of this Singaporean singer/songwriter, and I was pleasantly surprised at his new music direction for his new single where he dabbles in UK Garage instead of his usual melancholic, neo-soul stuff.

'You Don’t Know' by Leon Bridges .
I love how versatile Leon Bridges is. He is equally good at classic r&b and traditional soul and contemporary/pop.

'Am I Wrong' by Anderson .Paak.
Just watched him perform for the very first time, and he’s pretty much one of my top 3 live performers at the moment.

'High' by Ssion.
Ssion is this creative project that does music, videos, art, and live performance. The guy Cody Critcheloe is just fuckin’ A

'Neon Pattern Drums' by Jon Hopkins.
A delightfully off-kilter slab of leftfield 4/4.
