Name, where are you from?
Pip Blom, from Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Describe your style in three words?
Lots of black :)

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Best gig ever was the first time I saw Parquet Courts. It was around the release of their first record. I didn’t know what to expect and was completely blown away, so cool and energetic.

If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?
It's been such a long time since we were on a line-up with any band! I would love to be on the line-up with two bands we’re friends with, 'cause It would mean the evening would be so much fun. So I pick: Sports Team and Personal Trainer!

Which subcultures have influenced you?
I don’t know, to be honest, there are probably a lot of subcultures that have influenced me. But I’m not sure which one. I don’t feel like there are a lot of strict subcultures at the moment anyway, it feels a lot more like a blend.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
I would like to spend some time with my grandparents. They passed away when I was pretty young, but I loved them a lot. I would really like to talk to them again.

Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
I really liked The Caves in Edinburgh, such a pretty venue. We didn’t expect it to look that way at all and were completely blown off away.

Pip Blom's second studio album 'Welcome Break' is out now via Heavenly Recordings. Find it at ffm.to/pb-wb.

04Playlist Notes

First track you played on repeat?
'Simarik' by Tarkan.

A song that defines the teenage you?
'What Goes Around.../...Comes Around' by Justin Timberlake. I’ve played this song soo much. It drove my parents crazy but it’s such a banger.

One record you would keep forever?
'Jewellery' by Micachu & The Shapes.

A song lyric that has inspired you?
I have to say I don’t really listen to lyrics but I do like the lyrics by Sorry. I think they are really straightforward but cool. I especially like the lyrics in 'Perfect'.

The song that would get you straight on the dance floor?
'Take On Me' by A-ha. But I have to admit I’m not really a dancer when sober. So I can’t guarantee anything.

A song you wished you had written?
'You Said' by Fontaines D.C. Although I think would get very emotional when singing it so I’m not sure if it would work haha.

Best song to turn up loud?
'Jealousy, Jealousy' by Olivia Rodrigo.

A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
I really love 'Shape Of You' by Ed Sheeran. I think quite a few people know I like that song, but It’s def not an obvious choice!

Best song to end an all-nighter on?
'Ladies and Gentlemen (Roll the Dice)' by Kasabian. Such a beautiful song!

Any new music you are listening to right now?
I really like the band OWN with the song Amsterdam right now. Very cool track!
