Where are you from?
I’m from New Zealand originally and I live in New York City now.

What do you do?
I’m a tattoo artist.

Describe your style in 3 words
Decorative, traditional-ish and I dunno…

What was your first tattoo?
The first tattoo I got was the first tattoo I actually did. So I practiced on myself and had no tattoos at the time. It was a weird black and grey lady figure, but it's covered up now - under a skull.

Tell us the Story behind your favourite tattoo…
My favorite tattoo is probably my palm tattoos - 2 halves of a butterfly making up a whole butterfly. One of my closest friends from New Zealand did it for me 6 years ago. I mostly just get tattoos because I love them. A lot of my work doesn't have deep and meaningful reasons behind them, but it was so painful I think thats why I love it so much as well, because it was such an ordeal.

04Playlist Notes

A song from your favourite album?
'F.T.W' on Scandinavian Leather by Turbonegro

What was the last piece of music you bought?
'A Different Arrangement' by Black Marble
Best track? A Great Design.

Is there an album you like that people wouldn’t expect?
'Don't Break the Oath' by Merciful Fate.
Best track? A Dangerous Meeting.

What music did you listen to growing up? Name a stand out song.
As a kid my parents played a lot of The Cure. Stand out track - 'Killing an Arab'.  Or actually, 'Love is the Drug' by Roxy Music. Or, 'Nightclubbing' by Grace Jones. Too many from the 80’s to pick from.

A British music icon that has inspired you and a favourite track?
'Love is a Losing Game' by Amy Winehouse on Back to Black.
