A VLURE Photo
Name, where are you from?
VLURE. Glasgow, Scotland.
Describe your style in three words?
3am Jacobite energy.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Boy Harsher in the basement of Broadcast in Glasgow. Or accidentally seeing Shortparis at TGE ‘19.
If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?
Slowthai - for the pure, chaotic energy. Burial - for the comedown from said chaotic energy.
Which subcultures have influenced you?
Everything from post-punk, to grime, industrial, techno and pop. We pride ourselves on embracing everything. Anything with honesty and unfiltered emotion.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Detroit from Damn Dirty Duke / Nova Deus / Can-D Couture. There is not one human who has ever stepped on this isle with better patter.
Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
Our first show back after lockdown was at Future Yard in Birkenhead. The venue staff there were some of the best and most accommodating we have ever worked with. Aside from that, it’s an unreal space and stage for a venue of its capacity. Good people doing good things.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Anne Clarke - pure lyrical prowess, and an artist that never receives the full recognition she deserves.
VLURE will release their new track 'Heartbeat' on 22nd October 2022. It will be their second single released on So Young Records.
Pre-save it via vlure.lnk.to/heartbeat.
The first track you played on repeat?
'Geraldine' by Glasvegas.
A song that defines the teenage you?
'Blinded by the Lights' by The Streets.
One record you would keep forever?
'Mezzanine' by Massive Attack.
A song lyric that has inspired you?
"Take it by both hands, and shake it if it needs it"
From 'Memories' by Dale Barclay / The Amazing Snakeheads.
The song that would get you straight on the dance floor?
'Goin Nuts' by VTSS.
A song you wished you had written?
'Narayan' by The Prodigy.
Best song to turn up loud?
'Heartbass' by Salvatore Ganacci (ft. Tommy Cash).
A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
'Pang' by Caroline Polachek.
Best song to end an all-nighter on?
'Babylon' by David Gray (do not question it).
Any new music you are listening to right now?
'Sleek Form' by PVA.
'Birthday / The Pain' by For Those I Love.
'Black Lights on the M6' by Blackhaine.
'Piece and Pound Coins' by The Ninth Wave.
