What started out as a small company selling polo shirts to tennis players in 1952 has grown into a global brand inspired by music – our “subculture” - and the street. Whilst the range has expanded to include apparel, footwear and accessories for men, women and children, the polo shirt remains at the core of what we do. Always at the heart of the brand is the Laurel Wreath – our symbol of success and excellence across all that we do.

Our Policies

We respect the human rights of everyone who works for us, whether directly or indirectly. We believe all workers must be treated with dignity, respect and fairness and we will not knowingly tolerate forced or compulsory labour or human trafficking in any parts of our business or supply chain.

We are constantly reviewing our policies and best practises and we are committed to making long-term changes to ensure we have a positive impact on the planet and in our communities.

Read our policies:

By buying cotton products from Fred Perry, you’re supporting more responsibly grown cotton through the Better Cotton Initiative.

Fred Perry became a member of BCI in 2019. It is the biggest cotton sustainability programme in the world.

Better Cotton is not physically traceable to end products. However, BCI Farmers benefit from the demand for Better Cotton in equivalent volumes to those we ‘source.’

We are committed to sourcing 100% of our cotton in a more sustainable way by 2024 through the Better Cotton Initiative.

Our Factories

We have a close working partnership with each of our factories. We only work with those who share our commitment to the human rights of every worker - it is an integral part of the way we source.

Acknowledging the value of full transparency in our supply chain, we continue to build our knowledge through the tiers.

Our Products

Made in England

Fred Perry have worked in partnership with UK Pique and ESP in Leicester for over 13 years. They make our Fred Perry Shirts to exacting standards, and we’re proud to be able to make them in England.

In 2019 they opened a brand-new site which they built from scratch.

We employ a Senior Technologist who is based at UK Pique and ESP working both on the production of the shirts as well as factory compliance.

Fred Perry joined Fast Forward in 2019 to engage with their unique approach to auditing UK factories. Aimed at addressing UK-specific supply chain risks, enables us to accurately identify any risks of exploitation within our supply chain.

We have revisited the mapping of our cotton supply chain with all our China suppliers, down through all tiers to investigate if there is any evidence of direct or indirect use of forced labour from or within the region.

This has been supported with focused conversations with our suppliers, and targeted visits into China by our regional technical manager. We continue to visit and to review transactional evidence to maintain visibility of cotton purchasing and recruitment policies.

To date we have found no evidence that any of our garment producers are recruiting from the region, however we have found that 2.4% of our cotton is picked, spun and ginned in this region. Whilst these sites are extensively audited and the relevant company has an exemplary record of human rights and compliance, we are committed to ensuring there is no cotton from this region in our product from Q3 2021 onwards. We will continue to work with our Chinese production partners with whom we have long standing relationships.

Supplying Fred Perry

We are always open to new Suppliers to help us produce and reach our environmental aims. If you think you could help us we'd love to hear from you.
